Jeffery Leving has spent more than a decade in the trenches of domestic law. From that perspective, he gives men embroiled in custody disputes a powerful and impassioned voice in Fathers Rights. Arguing that men are disenfranchised and stigmatized by a biased legal system, Leving promises help through such difficulties as finding empathetic attorneys, avoiding unhealthy custody arrangements, protecting the child-parent relationship, and remaining financially solvent. Included is advice on how to demonstrate parental competence when falsely accused of abuse. Writing with passion for the plight of an under-represented population in the domestic drama, Fathers' Rights offers sound, step-by-step council and a road map through the complex terrain of family law. "Too often a dangerous free-fall ensues," Leving writes, speaking of divorce's aftermath. "At every step in the divorce process, the legal system deepens marital wounds, serving up revenge and recrimination much more often than it dispenses compassion and justice." It is Leving's mission to right the wrongs caused by divorce court. Millions of fathers are currently in the fight of their lives: the fight for custody of their children. Many wonder if they will ever again be an important part of their children's lives. With this landmark book, renowned men's rights attorney Jeffery Leving leads fathers through every twist and turn of the legal system, offering meaningful advice to save years of anguish and possibly thousands of dollars. This authoritative and accessible book covers every aspect of the custody process, including protecting the parent/child relationship as a breakup occurs; determining when to settle and when to litigate; techniques for dealing effectively with psychologists, social workers, and other domestic relations expert; and much more. Illustrated with vivid real-life examples, Jeffery Leving and Kenneth Dachman's practical guide is essential reading for the scores of American Fathers routinely excluded from their children's lives by a biased legal system in which avarice and recrimination too often overwhelm compassion and justice. |

How have women's rights evolved since the inception of our nation?
please help me
this is a project and these for the questions i need your help on
How have women's rights evolved since the inception of our nation?
Describe the rights of women in 1789 with the adoption of our constitution.
How did world war 1 and world war II change the role of women legally in the u.s?
How did the feminist movement in the 1960's and 1970's change women's roles in education and in the work place in this country?
Describe two specific cases that have had an impact on women's rights in this country.
Do women have the same rights as men in todays's society? explain.
(you dont have to answer this one if you dont want i just want to know what you think)
develop a legal rights timeline for women showing the progress of women;s rights from 1978 till today.
You've got two problems:
i) you should do your own homework
ii) even if anyone is inclined to do your homework for you, you've forgotten that the first two ww's in www stand for WORLD WIDE. I.e. you are addressing people from all over the planet and asking about 'our country' and 'our constitution'. Probably, if you're going to expect someone to do your homework for you, you should at least detail something as basic as that.
Shaheen - Helping Women Rise Higher
“I was 16 years old. My family did not have the money and we badly needed some. I did not know anything about marriage, nor did I know who I was getting married to. All I wanted to do was make some money. I had no idea what I was getting into and suffered terribly for it.”
These are the words of Nazia who got married to a 75-year-old Sheikh from a middle-eastern country. Nazia was sent divorce papers by post two weeks after marriage. She was shattered. However, soon she brought her life back on track. Today she is self-dependent thanks to the emotional support and vocational training that she got from an organization called Shaheen.
In the congested bylanes of the Old City around Charminar in Hyderabad, lies Shaheen, a women’s resource and welfare organisation. The organisation works on the principle that change happens when cultural norms are challenged.
This organization began as an effort to fight for women’s rights way back in 1987. At that time, Jameela Nishat (founder member of Shaheen) came across a conference of men on wife-beating and how it defined their identity. Jameela was angered by this mindset and Shaheen was born as a voice against such thoughts and actions.
Shaheen symbolizes a falcon which flies at the highest altitude. The aim, therefore, is to free women from a deprecating social culture and help them rise above it. They do this through vocational training courses like sewing, henna application and tailoring. Educational courses / tuitions for those who have discontinued their studies are also offered. Thanks to these efforts, Arshiya, who had discontinued her education at the age of 14, is now a graduate in commerce.
Shaheen has dedicated workers who visit houses to try and know the status of women there. “Most women are not aware of their potential and rights; our workers help them realize that,” says Jameela. For many girls in the old city this is the only place which teaches them to fight back against domestic violence. They have an active domestic violence counseling centre and a lawyer for consultation. The organisation also has an active rural centre to serve the women who live in villages or the outskirts of the city.
Shaheen is working at making women a part of the socio-economic development of the country. It is working towards helping them know about their rights and realize their potential. To lend a helping hand and further this cause contact
