has anyone had trouble with Avon SSS on horses?

my neighbor has a horse that always comes to my side of the fence, i feel bad for all the flies and i hear avon SSS works wonders. But i read that i should talk to a vet first and use at my own risk. my neighbor is like 90 something and he only has the horse to eat up his grass. I give more attention to his horse then he does. I just don't want the horse to get a rash or anything.

I've never tried Avon, but I do know that "Pirahna" fly spray (sp?) works wonders. Sometimes the residue can leave a smell on your hands, but it smells good, so no worries there.
It costs about 15$ for a bottle that will last you about 2 months if you use it every day.

Fly masks work great for horse's faces! If they tolerate having some material over their eyes.
